A Night at the Bastion

Whether traversing through the perilous wilds of Da'Loya or taking to the outcast skies in an airship, life is hard for those who survive on the fringe. After earning some hard wrought coin, what better way to spend it than carousing at a favorite tavern. The Bastion welcomes everyone from all walks of life. There it's owner, Aliana, is sure to have hot meat roasting on the spit and endless kegs of ale for the exhausted traveler to rest their world-weary bones. It's almost like home.

This piece was created in Manga Studio 5 using a Microsoft Surface Pro 3. It presents original characters, creatures, and the world of In the Shadow of the Ancients. ItSotA is a comic project that I am working on with my husband, based on a tabletop roleplaying game campaign we ran over the course of years. It was a multifaceted adventure, that spanned multiple groups and branching storylines, and utilized Dungeons & Dragons, Dungeon World, Torchbearer, and Pathfinder.
