Hello, all! It's been a while since I've written something here, and and a lot has been going on. So, try to keep up.
Death of an OCShara is no more. Between some friend drama and some shake-ups to the world-building for our comic, I have actually abandoned her as a character in our story. Technically though, she was adopted and not a true OC. Despite spending so much time giving her a life and personality and design all my own, she never quite felt like she was fully mine. The world has also changed enough that her role in the story now feels superfluous. So, it's time to say goodbye. A character that I originally created to be her cousin is now stepping up into a major role for the story. It actually feels very freeing, but at the same time a little sad, to say goodbye to Shara.
New RPG CampaignSo, our group started a new roleplaying game campaign. If you noticed my most recent posts you probably already know. It took up a ton of my free time, and I neglected all my social media. This means I was busy drawing races for a world building and custom setting document that my husband wrote for the game. Some of the races are really cool, and I'm quite proud of them. Then, I drew everyone's character portraits for the custom character sheets. I've been trying to figure out how to show the latter off, since they're kind of straightforward and bland by design. So, you'll be seeing those coming up next.
Experimenting with My ArtstyleLastly, I have been playing around in Manga Studio 5. It really is a godsend. Like, I'm surprised I fell in love with it so much. It's pretty much replaced Photoshop as my daily driver for digital drawing. I've also been more experimental with it, and I'm trying a new way of coloring pictures. I'll start posting those as soon as I finish posting all the space-opera RPG stuff. I'm super excited about it, and it will probably carry over into my comic work, which brings me to my last point.
Comic PlanningWe're finally settling down and focusing fully on our comic book. Like, the stage is set, the world is built. We're writing the story and planning out paneling and stuff like that. It's very exciting. I can't wait to start showing that stuff off! It's going to be a long time though...
I hope you all enjoy what I have coming up. I'm not the most consistent with social media, but I'm learning. I want so much to be more active here on DA. I wish someone could teach me the ways of this site. It feels almost esoteric at times. I post a lot on Instagram, but it's so simple and straightforward. Anyway, expect to see much more from me.
